Happy Deal

“Stumbling on Happiness”, by Daniel Gilbert, is a really good read. He spends some time explaining that the very term “happiness” is not easy to define. This got me to try and come up with a definition. How about:

Happiness is obtaining something (not necessarily a physical object) through just enough renunciation, i.e. by giving up exactly the right amount.
